There are two types of announcers in this world…

One absolutely loves the thought that they actually get to perform their radio show in front of a live audience – even if it’s just the staff at Harvey Norman on the obligatory weekend OB.

The Other type of announcer stressing the whole week leading up to the OB because they couldn’t think of anything worse than being stared at by locals while trying to do their job.

That’s why it’s important as a CD to make sure that you are using the right staff for events like this. You don’t play a key defender in the midfield in an AFL Prelim final – you would cook the game from the first bounce. Play to your strengths. If you have talent that are not great with crowds then make sure that you are using them sparingly for events like OBs.
